A day after Tamil superstar Rajinikanth said he was not scared of politics, but hesitant to take the plunge, TNCC president EVKS Elangovan requested both him and star actor Kamal Hassan not to take the plunge and “get caught in the grip of political activities”.
“My sincere request to superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan is not to enter politics and not get caught in the grip of political activities”, he said while speaking to mediapersons here.

Yesterday, Rajinikanth had said at the launch of the audio and trailer of his tri-lingual action-thriller ‘Lingaa’ that politics is dangerous and deep and he was not afraid of it, but hesitant. “In politics you need strong roots,” he had said.

The superstar had also said he was moving in the direction shown by God and “if he desires that I should come to politics, I will serve the people.”
Soon after he became TNCC president Elangovan had requested Rajinikanth not to enter politics.
Elangovan brushed aside a query on the ‘loss’ to Congress with the exit of G K Vasan from the party, saying they would not stand to lose anything.

On Karnataka’s proposal to construct dams across the river Cauvery, he said it would create problems and that TNCC would fight these plans.
