Preity Zinta provided an update on social media, assuring fans that she and her family are safe “for now” amidst the raging wildfires in Los Angeles.
On X (formerly Twitter), Preity shared that she never imagined witnessing a day when fires would ravage neighborhoods around them in LA. Friends and families were either evacuated or on high alert, while ash fell from smog-filled skies like snow. She described the fear and uncertainty surrounding what might happen if the wind didn’t calm down, particularly with toddlers and grandparents nearby.
She went on to say that she was heartbroken by the devastation around them but grateful to God that they were safe for the time being.
Preity also offered her thoughts and prayers to those who have been displaced or lost everything in the fires. She ended by expressing her gratitude to the fire department, firefighters, and everyone working to save lives and property.
On January 9, Priyanka Chopra similarly expressed her appreciation for the “brave” first responders who have been tirelessly aiding those impacted by the wildfires. She shared an Instagram Story showcasing the first responders battling the fire, which has devastated thousands of acres of land.
Priyanka gave a huge shoutout to the incredibly brave first responders, thanking them for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to assist families affected by the wildfires. She also tagged the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, and LAPD in her message.
Priyanka had previously shared a video depicting the wildfire consuming parts of Los Angeles.
Similarly, actress Nora Fatehi left California on January 9 after the wildfires wreaked havoc in Los Angeles.
In a video, Nora shared her harrowing experience, saying that she was in Los Angeles when the wildfires were at their worst. She mentioned how she had never seen anything like it and described the situation as insane. Nora explained that she had received an evacuation order just five minutes before recording and quickly packed her things to leave.
She also mentioned heading to the airport to wait since she had a flight that day, hoping it wouldn’t be canceled. Expressing her fear, Nora admitted it was a terrifying experience, having never encountered such uncontrollable fires before. She also assured her followers to keep them updated.
A large wildfire erupted in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025, prompting the evacuation of over 30,000 residents. In reaction to the disaster, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in the city.
