Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features, besides Ranveer, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan. However, it is the film’s female lead, Sara Arjun, that garnered the most attention. Once a celebrated child actor, she is now making her debut as a leading actress in a film. Who is Sara Arjun?
Born in 2005, Sara is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun. She started her film career as a toddler, appearing in her first advertisement when she was just over a year old after being spotted by an ad filmmaker in a shopping mall. Her breakthrough came with the 2011 Tamil drama Deiva Thirumagal, where she portrayed Vikram’s daughter. Since then, she has been part of several films such as Ek Thi Daayan, Saivam, and Saand Ki Aankh.

In 2022, she landed one of her most prominent roles in Mani Ratnam’s period drama Ponniyin Selvan, where she played the younger version of Nandini, played by Aishwarya Rai. Peeping Moon had first reported about Sara Arjun’s casting in Dhurandhar was in 2023. According to the publication, “Although her role is said to be relatively small in this male-dominated story, this film (by Aditya Dhar) marks her transition to a lead heroine after years of being known as a child actress in Hindi and Telugu cinema.” The teaser reveals three glimpses of her character — dancing at a club, riding pillion with Ranveer’s character, and sharing a dance with him.
Backed by Jio Studios and produced under the B62 Studios banner, Dhurandhar is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar as co-producers.There is online buzz that the film’s storyline is about the life of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, known for the 2016 surgical strike operation. But the makers have not commented on it.
