Telugu film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam which was released on December 12, 2025 has managed to deliver a superb performance at the Box Office. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles, the fantasy action thriller film is a sequel to 2021’s Akhanda.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the movie is proving to be a clear crowd favourite, nearing Rs 100 crores in worldwide earnings and crossing Rs 70 crores domestically as per industry tracker Sacnilk. What makes these milestones even more impressive is the fact that the film managed to achieve them within just 6 days of release.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’s Day 6 Box Office performance

The Telugu feature raked in earnings of Rs 3.3 crores on Day 6, marking a 22.35% drop from the previous day which saw earnings of Rs 4.25 crores. This drop was expected however, as mid week blues inevitably lead to a ceasing in footfall. Collections have been predicted to pick up with the oncoming weekend.

With the collections from Day 6, the film rounded off its India gross collection to Rs 87.50 crores while the India net collection was rounded off at Rs 73.90 crores as per Sacnilk. Overseas, the film also did exceptionally well as it managed to collect Rs 11.50 crores on the 6th day – bringing the total worldwide collections to Rs 99 crores; just a hairbreadth away from the Rs 100 crore milestone.

Theatre occupancy on Day 6: Noticeably reduced crowds at Indian cinemas

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam saw a noticeable cooling of interest as it navigated its first Wednesday, recording an overall Telugu occupancy (2D) of 17.66%. This mid-week slump was even more evident in the 3D format, which managed a lower overall occupancy of 11.95%. While the premium format found a relatively decent audience in Bengaluru with 18.67% occupancy, it struggled significantly in major hubs like Hyderabad and Vijayawada, where 3D footfalls languished at 11.75% and 9.75% respectively.

The regional performance painted a picture of sharp contrasts across the country. Karimnagar emerged as the film’s strongest pocket with a massive 50.75% occupancy, and the National Capital Region (NCR) followed with a high 41.50%, though both areas featured limited show counts.

In contrast, massive markets like Hyderabad maintained a moderate 18.75% occupancy across a heavy volume of 507 shows, while interest in Bengaluru’s 2D version dipped to 12.75% over 311 shows. Footfalls remained particularly sluggish in Mumbai and Nizamabad, where occupancy figures struggled to move past the 10.33% and 12.75% marks, showing a clear divide in the movie’s regional grip as the initial hype began to taper.
