New York’s UBS Arena came alive with a slew of dazzling performances, impressive red carpet looks, and some iconic wins, as the biggest names of the music industry attended the reputed MTV Video Music Awards 2025.

While Lady Gaga took home the maximum trophies, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Rose and Bruno Mars featured among the other major winners of the evening.

Who won what

Ariana Grande won video of the year at the 2025 Video Music Awards, as the video for her song “brighter days ahead” won the night’s highest honor. Overall, Grande went home with a total of three awards.

Lady Gaga emerged as the biggest winner of the evening with four wins. Sabrina Carpenter bagged three trophies including album of the year with Short n’ Sweet.

Rosé won song of the year for APT., her collaboration with Bruno Mars while KATSEYE, was adjudged the winner of the MTV Push performance of the year for Touch. Mars and Gaga won the best collaboration for Die With a Smile.

Mariah Carey won the Video Vanguard Award, Busta Rhymes got the inaugural Rock the Bells Visionary Award, while Ricky Martin was awarded the inaugural Latin Icon Award.

A star-studded tribute was performed for Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July at the age 76. It featured Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, YUNGBLUD and Nuno Bettencourt.
