The moment has finally arrived: the iconic series ‘Mirzapur’ is making its way to the big screen. Producer Farhan Akhtar has confirmed the long-speculated transition with the announcement of ‘Mirzapur: The Film’. In a teaser video shared on Instagram, fans were treated to appearances by Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu, alluding to the high-stakes drama that will soon unfold in theatres, urging viewers to experience the action beyond their screens.
The teaser suggests Divyenndu will return, alongside Abhishek Banerjee, though the complete cast remains under wraps. While speculation around Hrithik Roshan stepping into the role of Kaleen Bhaiya has circulated, no official confirmation has been provided.
This announcement comes on the heels of three successful seasons of the Amazon Prime Video series, which debuted in 2018 and quickly garnered a cult following. The second season premiered during the pandemic, while fans eagerly awaited the release of the third season earlier this year.
Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar from Excel Entertainment expressed their excitement about bringing the beloved series to cinemas, stating, “This is a landmark moment for us to once again share the quintessential Mirzapur experience, but this time on the big screen.”
The franchise has captivated audiences with its compelling storytelling and memorable characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya. The producers believe that adapting such a cherished series into a film will offer fans an even more immersive experience, inviting them deeper into the world of Mirzapur. They are thrilled to collaborate with Prime Video again and are committed to delivering a cinematic experience that meets the high expectations of their dedicated fanbase.
