Kim Kardashian, reality TV star and lifestyle mogul, has officially entered Hollywood with her legal drama ‘All’s Fair.’ Leading a charged workforce of female advocates, Kardashian headlines the role of a divorce lawyer on screen. She appears alongside celebrated Hollywood actresses such as Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson and Teyana Taylor.

Produced by Ryan Murphy, this Hulu drama has failed to impress fans by a large extent. As social media lashes out on Kim Kardashian‘s acting skills, ‘All’s Fair’ went on to receive 6% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics called it the ‘worst TV show ever,’ while some fans found a silver lining with the ‘it-girl’ fashion and the star presence, while rallying the Kardashian hate.

‘She is great in her own mediocre way’

Reacting to the first three episodes, ‘Pilot,’ ‘When We Were Young,’ and ‘I Want Revenge,’ the Internet never expected Kardashian’s show to be ‘Oscar-worthy,’ as a user opined, feeling, “She is great in her own mediocre way,” considering she is surrounded by well-known co-stars like Sarah Paulson and Niecy Nash-Betts. “Kim is just all one note with zero range in pitch and emotion,” wrote another user on X (formerly Twitter).

“I would rather have a four-hour root canal treatment (again) than watch All’s Fair,” felt a user. On the other hand, several fans believed that the scathing reviews were just part of a ‘marketing strategy.’ “Think they just wanted a show where everyone looked absolutely fabulous. And if that’s the case, then yes, nailed it,” responded another user.

Producer Hemingway breaks the silence

All’s Fair producer Anthony Hemingway, otherwise known for his work on Glee, American Horror Story and American Crime Story, broke the silence on the backlash. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, his said that a Murphy production gave him an ‘ultimate playground.’ However, the backlash and negative comments are too loud in volume to ignore.

Making her debut for the scripted format, the Internet has not been kind to Kardashian. Responding to the crass comments, Hemingway reacted, “You’re not going to please everybody.” The director of four episodes added, “I think the show holds a mirror up to each person who watches it… It may be out of your league, it may not be anything you can connect to, and I think that goes for anything that gets presented on screen.”

“Every time you meet any sort of difference, it takes a minute to either develop a taste for it or not. It may not be for you, and that’s OK, but I personally enjoy the show,” Hemingway added. He then urged viewers to have some patience and let it set in, gradually. He said, “. The show takes a minute to get into gear, but I do feel like it is absolutely striking something that is refreshing and creatively fulfilling.”
