Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2, which released on April 19, had a decent start at the box office. The movie unfolding the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre is receiving praise for its powerful storyline and beckoning people to know more about the infamous Jallianwala Bagh incident.

Even though the movie had a promising start at the box office initially, it saw a drop in its box office collection on its first Monday. The movie collected approximately Rs 4.50 crore on its Day 4, Monday, not even close to the amount collected on Sunday, Rs 12.64 crore. The movie saw rapid growth in the first three days of its release as it collected a total of roughly Rs 30.21 crore, as per the Sacnilk report. Kesari Chapter 2 collected Rs 7.75 crore on its first day and Rs 9.75 crore on day 2, Saturday. Kesari Chapter 2 has reached a total of Rs 34.71 crore.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 recorded an occupancy rate of 32.23% across 3,992 shows across the country. In this race, South India is leading, as Chennai saw the occupancy rate of 72.25% in 47 shows, followed by Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar as a lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, R. Madhavan as Neville Mckinley, the defending lawyer of the British, and Ananya Panday, is a historic drama that reveals the tragic incident through a powerful storyline.

Even with the drop on its first Monday, the film is getting excellent reviews. Akshay Kumar is being praised for his impactful performance and powerful dialogues delivered in court. R. Madhavan’s dominating performance in a few scenes in the second half and even Ananya Panday have proven themselves in the movie.
