Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is showing no signs of slowing down, as the film has roared past the Rs 550 crore mark post-Diwali. Thanks to the gripping storyline, impressive performances, and stunning VFX, the audience can’t get enough of the movie.

After breaking several records, the film has now it made it to the coveted Rs 500 crore club featuring movies like Baahubali, KGF Chapter 2, Pushpa 2, Jawan, and Kalki 2898-AD, according to IMDB. The film has also become the second-highest grossing film of 2025 only behind Chhava, and the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2025.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1, amassed an estimated Rs 546.90 crore India net in 20 days of its release since Thursday, October 2.

The film’s box office performance from Dussehra to Diwali has lit up the festive Box Office powered by the star power and the positive word of mouth The epic action-fantasy flick had an impressive collection of Rs 337 crore in Week 1 and the collection remained steady in the coming days. By end of Week 2, Kantara Chapter 1 collects Rs 147.85 crore. The film continued to draw viewers even in its Week 3 that coincided with extended Diwali weekend, making overall box office collections of Rs 557.15 crore according to Sacnilk.

Will Thamma slow down Kantara’s box office run?

Many trade analysts have estimated the film will collect Rs 600 crore before its OTT premiere on Prime Video on October 30, 2025.

The film starring Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles, is still ruling the box office, even after the arrival of Diwali releases – Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. According to Koimoi, the film’s show count has been significantly reduced in the Hindi market.

Post its 20 day run on the box office, Kantara Chapter 1 has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, entering the list of the top 10 highest-grossing films at the Indian box office.
