Praised for its visual effects, intense plot, and demanding performances from actors, Kantara Chapter 1 officially became a blockbuster. However, a sudden dip in the second week’s collections has become worrisome as the Kantara magic fades away. Entering the single-digit club for the first time since its release, the Rishab Shetty action-thriller failed to touch the Rs 10 crore threshold on its second Thursday.
Kantara Chapter 1 Collections Week 2: Box Office Update
After a stellar first week earning Rs 337 crore, Kantara Chapter 1 maintained its momentum into week two, collecting Rs 22.25 crore on its second Friday. The weekend brought another strong boost with nearly Rs 80 crore added to its total. However, collections began to taper off during the weekdays, with Rs 13.35 crore on Monday, Rs 13.5 crore on Day 13, and around Rs 9 crore on Day 14. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office collection for Week 2 stands at an impressive Rs 485.4 crore.
Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office collection day 15: How Rishab Shetty created Kantara
Gulshan Devaiah, playing the powerful role of King Kurukshetra in Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, opened up about his experience on sets. Speaking to NDTV, the Badhaai Do actor recalled how he accepted the film. Interestingly, the script was written keeping Devaiah in mind. Calling Rishab Shetty ‘possessed,’ Devaiah was in complete awe of the director-actor.
Revealing the Kantara Chapter 1 budget, Devaiah noted that it was one of the biggest films Shetty had worked on. There was intense pressure from the audience to make it better than the 2022 release. Calling Shetty’s part “physically and emotionally demanding,” Devaiah shared that the film was shot in 250 days, including a 600-person crew, shooting in real forests.
