Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office collection Day 14: Rishab Shetty‘s action-thriller, Kantara Chapter 1, has set the box office ablaze with its box office wonders. Collecting more than Rs 650 crore worldwide, this period film has left fans impressed in India too. With a domestic collection of nearly Rs 476 crore in India, the journey to Rs 500 crore has lost momentum.

With the upcoming festive release, Thamma, the horror-comedy, is likely to give stiff competition to Kantara Chapter 1 as weekday sales weaken. However, the third weekend might rekindle the record-breaking performance of the Rishab Shetty film. As per Sacnilk, the film has emerged as the highest-grossing film of Karnataka, grossing Rs 200 crore from the state alone.

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 14: Indian box office update

After an impressive first week with earnings of Rs 337 crore, Kantara Chapter 1 continued its strong run into the second week, grossing Rs 22.25 crore on its second Friday. The weekend saw a solid surge, adding nearly Rs 80 crore to its tally. However, collections dipped sharply at the start of the new week, with Rs 13.35 crore on Monday and Rs 13.5 crore on Day 13. By Wednesday, the film added another Rs 10 crore, pushing its total box office collection to a remarkable Rs 475.9 crore.

Kantara Chapter 1 Box Office Day 14: Biggest films of Karnataka

Becoming the first film to cross the threshold number, Kantara Chapter 1 also beat Kantara (2022). The Rishab Shetty-directed film had grossed nearly Rs 182 crore in 13 days in the state and surpassed the lifetime total of Kantara (2022).

Interestingly, Kantara: Chapter 1 achieved something rare in Karnataka, with an average ticket price of over Rs 300. This jump came after the makers took a bold stand against the state government’s price cap of Rs 200. With the High Court putting a stay on the restriction, theatres were free to charge higher prices, giving the film’s box office numbers a massive boost.

Kantara Chapter 1 has also become the only Kannada movie ever to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office, after Yash’s KGF Chapter 2. The Hombale Production stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in key roles.
