Vaibhav Gupta, a 19-year-old from Kanpur, emerged victorious in the 14th season of the singing reality show “Indian Idol,” surpassing fellow contestants Subhadeep Das Chowdhary from Kolkata and Piyush Panwar from Rajasthan.

In a ceremony held last night, Gupta was presented with a Rs 25 Lakh cheque from Sony Entertainment Television and a Brezza from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the co-sponsors. Expressing his joy, Gupta revealed his aspiration to pursue a career in playback singing.

Reflecting on his childhood dreams, Gupta shared, “I always dreamed of becoming an Indian Idol, and today that dream has come true. I am immensely happy and proud to have brought joy to my father. I believed that with persistent hard work, I would one day achieve the idol trophy, and now I am the winner of Idol 14,” as conveyed to PTI.

With the cash prize he secured, Gupta aims to establish his music studio, stating, “I will realize my dream studio, creating new songs and striving to connect with you through my voice and quality music.”
