South Indian star Mammootty’s latest film Kalamkaval is doing incredible numbers at the Box Office. An action crime thriller, the movie which was released on December 5 has already become Mammootty’s quickest feature to cross Rs 50 crore world wide, leading to several media outlets dubbing it his ‘fastest fifty’.
With rating of 7.6/10 on IMDb and critically hailed for it’s strong performances, stunning cinematography and a thrilling plot, Kalamkaval has maintained a strong presence in theatres. It stars Mammmootty, Vinayakan, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, and Gibin Gopinath in key roles.
Kalamkaval’s Day 7 performance at the Box Office
On Day 7, Kalamkaval earned Rs 1.95 crores according to rough estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. It saw a slight drop from the previous day at 7.14% but is bound to recover collections as the weekend approaches. On day 6, it had earned Rs 2.1 crores marking a steady earning for the movie since it’s release.
Worldwide, it is soon set to cross Rs 60 crores with overseas collections raking in Rs 29.9 crores. The India gross collection, which is the movie’s collection before taxes and deductions, has amounted to Rs 28.6 crores while the India net has amounted to Rs 26.28 crores as per Sacnilk. In total, Kalamkaval has amassed an impressive Rs 58.5 crores worldwide and shows no signs of slowing down. If the current momentum continues, the film is well on its way to becoming a certified blockbuster.
Theatre occupancy on Day 7
Kalamkaval’s hold on theatre occupancies also seems to be going steady with the film pulling crowds across India but especially South India. It had an overall Malayali occupancy of 22.66% on December 11, 2025 with evening and afternoon shows drawing in the most footfalls.
Kochi had the highest number of shows with 177, followed by Trivandrum with 129, Chennai with 113 and Kozhikode with 77. Kochi had an overall occupancy of 29.50% while Trivandrum was slightly lower at 15.25%. Chennai had an occupancy of 16% and Kozhikode came in with a surprising 40.75%. The film was also released in places like Mumbai and Delhi NCR where theatre occupancy remained relatively low with a low number of shows.
Overall, the movie’s steady performance at the Box Office holds well for it’s future at theatres. A stable presence at the Box Office will likely take the movie farther than dramatic highs and lows. With the weekend approaching at breakneck speed, perhaps earnings might even pick up and take it over the Rs 60 crore threshold.
