Ikkis release date: Maddock Films’ latest war-drama Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra, has officially pushed its release date. Which was set to release on Christmas 2025 on December 25, has been postponed to avoid a clash with Kartik Aryan’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.

They announced that the Sriram Raghavan directorial will also have an updated trailer. Depicting the valiant story of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, it immortalises the tale of braveheart Arun Khetarpal. Calling it ‘the year of courage’, the makers announced that the final trailer will be released this weekend.

Ikkis new release date

As per the social media post, the updated release date of Ikkis is 1st January 2026. Marking the debut of the newest Bachchan in town, the film will also star Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia. It will also be the last time fans will catch the Bollywood legend, Dharmendra, on the big screen, after his demise. This was the last film he shot before passing away in November this year. Dharmendra in Ikkis, plays the on-screen father of Arun Khetarpal, Brigadier ML Khetarpal.

Speaking to the Indian Express, Pooja Ladha, the editor of Ikkis, shared that the makers, Raghavan and Dinesh, will plan a tribute to the late veteran actor. She shared, ‘His final performance will speak more than any tribute from us, I feel.”

Dhurandhar fever hits hard

Dhurandhar is officially on its way to become Bollywood’s biggest film in 2025. Surpassing Saiyaara’s opening day and the week-two dream run, the Ranveer Singh starrer even beat Pushpa 2. Leaving regional heavweights like Akhanda 2 behind, Akshaye Khanna has taken the Internet by storm.

This is the third time Dinesh Vijan has strategised to postpone a release. Industry analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media and wrote, “The postponement of Hindi Medium and Chhaava worked to their advantage, with both eventually enjoying a clear run. Dinesh Vijan has done it for the third time… Ikkis, originally slated for release on 25 December 2025, will now arrive a week later, on 1 January 2026. Dhurandhar is creating havoc at the box office and shows no signs of slowing down. Plus, Avatar — the Hollywood giant — will have an extensive release in India this Friday (19 December 2025).”

Coming from a business point of view, it is set to become a wise decision, given the screen dominance over the year-end holiday season. The New Year 2026 release will give Ikkis its share of solo spotlight.
