Paresh Rawal has let bygones be bygones and set aside past differences with director Priyadarshan to embark on a new chapter with Hera Pheri 3, which is set to start shooting in February or March, marking a new chapter for the blockbuster franchise.

While fans worried about the fate of Hera Pheri franchise when Rawal exited the third installment of the movie earlier last year, things have now resolved between the director-actor duo. In fact, the two have already collaborated on Bhoot Bangla, Priyadarshan’s comeback Bollywood venture. Hera Pheri 3 will be Rawal and Priyadarshan’s 15th film together.

Not only the OMG – Oh My God actor patched up with the Virasat director, he has also claimed that his bond with him has strengthened post the tiff, in a recent interview.

‘Relationship has been healed’

“A lot has happened but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai. In fact, what has happened is that it has further solidified our equation. Through all of this, we now know each in a sharper and better way. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. Our relationship is very transparent,” Rawal told News18 Showsha

The film’s shoot is set to begin February-March next year.

‘Ek film sabki wajah se banti hai’

Rawal also cleared the air about a Baburao spinoff on his iconic Hera Pheri character – Babu Rao Ganpatrao Apte who entertained the audiences thoroughly with his memorable one-liners like ‘utha le re baba’, and ‘arey tu jaa re’. The actor had earlier expressed interest in Baburao spin-off, but told News 18 in the interview that Baburao can’t exist on his own and would need his companions.

“We (Priyadarshan and I) haven’t discussed a spin-off on Baburao. A film is a collaborative effort. Ek film sabki wajah se banti hai. I don’t think Baburao can exist on his own. You’ll need Shyam and Raju too,” he said.

Controversy surrounding Paresh Rawal’s exit

Hera Pheri 3 will star Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Jaaved Jaaferi, Shakti Kapoor, Rakesh Bedi, and Chunky Pandey among others.

Paresh Rawal had earlier announced his exit from the third installment of the film and returned the signing amount with interest, which had led to an alleged financial setback for the production. This had prompted Akshay Kumar to take legal action against Rawal. However, all is well as Rawal has decided to return to Hera Phera 3.
