The most popular fantasy series in the world, Harry Potter, is all set to be reprised as a TV series. As fans around the world are waiting with bated breath for the show to premiere, HBO made an exciting announcement. The cable TV company shared an Instagram post revealing the actors who would play the characters of Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Minerva, McGonagall, Rubeus Hagrid, among others. However, the makers have not yet announced who will play the lead roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley in the series.

Harry Potter TV series release date
HBO’s Harry Potter TV series is slated for a 2026 release on Max. The show will start filming in the summer of 2025.
Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod said, “We are delighted to have such extraordinary talent onboard, and we can’t wait to see them bring these beloved characters to new life.”
The series is executive produced by Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
