British rock band Coldplay has arrived in India, marking their return after nearly a decade. The band is scheduled to perform three concerts in Mumbai on January 18,19 and 21, 2025 at DY Patil Sports Stadium, followed by a show in Ahmedabad on January 25, 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The initial announcements of two Mumbai concerts led to an overwhelming response from the fans, as tickets sold out within minutes. The huge demand has resulted in ticketing platform BookMyShow to crash, leaving many fans disappointed. In response, Coldplay added a third show in Mumbai to accommodate the fanbase.

Expressing their excitement, Coldplay tweeted with a picture of lead singer Chris Martin, ‘’We are so happy and grateful; to be here in India.’’ Fans are thrilled, as this marks Coldplay’s return to India after their concert at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. Martin arrived at Mumbai Airport late Thursday night, along with his partner, Fifty Shades of Grey actor Dakota Johnson.

The massive demands for tickets with increase in ticket prices and counterfeit sales. BookMyShow has warned against buying tickets from unauthorised platforms, highlighting that those tickets will be invalid.

Fans who are interested in attending the show can look forward to witness iconic hits like ‘’Paradise’’, ‘’Clocks’’, ‘’Yellow’’, ‘’Fix you’’, Adventure of lifetime’’, Viva la vida and A sky full of stars.’’ The band’s return to India showcases the country’s growing live entertainment market.  As the concert dates come near, fans across India are eagerly waiting for what promises to be a series of thrilling performances by the famous British band.

The three day event is anticipated to draw about 70,000 people.
