After years of speculation, Esha Gupta has addressed the long-standing rumours linking her to Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. In a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube show, Esha clarified that while they were in touch briefly, the relationship never developed beyond casual conversation.
“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months. We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended,” Esha said, putting an end to years of speculation about their alleged romance.

When asked if there was ever a real chance of a relationship, the Rustom actor responded honestly, saying, “Maybe it could have happened,” she admitted, adding that things naturally fizzled out. “There was no drama or bitterness. It just wasn’t meant to be,” she said, attributing the short-lived connection to mismatched timing and compatibility.
Esha also spoke about the controversy that surrounded Hardik Pandya following his controversial appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2019, where his remarks were widely criticised for being sexist. Interestingly, Esha was one of the few voices in the film industry who publicly condemned the episode’s tone. However, she revealed that the controversy had no bearing on her, as they were no longer in touch by then.
“I wasn’t affected by that because we weren’t talking anymore,” she clarified.
On the work front, Esha was last seen in Ek Badnaam… Aashram 3 on MX Player, where she starred opposite Bobby Deol. She also featured in the thriller One Day: Justice Delivered, playing the role of DCP Laxmi Rathi. Rumours are swirling that she may be part of the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 cast, though no official confirmation has been made.
In the same interview, Esha also opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs back in 2017, a time when the procedure was still considered both rare and expensive.
