Dude Box Office Collection Day 7: Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude has become a major hit for Tamil cinema. Dominating the festive releases this Diwali 2025, the Keerthiswaran directorial has made significant waves at the box office as well. Despite a single-digit opening day, the romantic drama picked up on the weekend. After its first week, Dude has grossed Rs 56.55 crore so far and Rs 100 crore o the global box office.
While Ranganathan is not new to delivering blockbusters, Dude is on its way to secure another Rs 100 crore megahit on his list. The Ashwath Marimuthu directorial, Dragon (2025), also became a big hit for Ranganathan with a Rs 150 crore lifetime collection. Love Today (2022), another Rs 105 crore blockbuster, went viral for its unique plot and wowed audiences despite its seemingly low budget.
Dude Collection Week 1: Box Office Update
This festive release, just ahead of the Diwali 2025 celebrations, Dude has been setting its own records at the box office. After a modest opening, the film picked up pace over the weekend, earning Rs 10.4 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.6 crore on Sunday, taking its three-day total to Rs 21 crore. The momentum carried into Monday, with collections holding steady at around Rs 11 crore, a 2% rise in Tamil regions, even as numbers dipped slightly in Telugu markets. By its first Wednesday, the film added another Rs 4 crore, followed by Rs 2.25 crore on Thursday. According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Dude has now crossed Rs 56 crore in domestic collections, a strong showing for a regional release, still attracting audiences.
The overall Tamil occupancy dropped below 20% while only the afternoon and night shows sustained. Despite 373 shows scheduled in Chennai, Dude could only fill 24.5% of the seats. The highest rates were observed in Pondicherry, with 23 shows in the region, Dude achieved 40.5% occupancy.
Directed by Keerthiswaran, Dude stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Mamitha Baiju, R. Sarathkumar, Rohini, and Hridhu Haroon in key roles. While this romantic drama dominates Tamil screens, the Bollywood festive release, Thamma, has attracted fans in large numbers. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal, it has crossed the Rs 40 crore mark in two days.
