Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated action-thriller Deva has made a decent debut at the global box office. The film crossed Rs 34.01 crore during its opening weekend according to figures released by the film’s makers on Monday. The film, which hit theaters on January 31, is produced by Roy Kapur Films in collaboration with Zee Studios and directed by renowned filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, known for his work in the Malayalam film industry.
The film experienced a notable surge in earnings, particularly on its third day, helping it reach the impressive global collection total of Rs 34.01 crore.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Deva earned a total of Rs 20.29 crore in its first four days at the Indian box office. The film opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Day 1 (1st Friday), followed by an increase to Rs 6.4 crore on Day 2 (1st Saturday), showing a 16.36% growth in pan-India collections. On Day 3 (1st Sunday), it saw another rise to Rs 7.25 crore, marking a 13.28% increase. However, on Day 4 (1st Monday), the film’s collections dropped significantly, with Rs 1.14 crore recorded till now.
In Deva, Shahid Kapoor portrays a determined and defiant police officer. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, and Kubbra Sait in key roles. Billed as an action-packed thriller, the film presents a mix of high-intensity action and drama, though its reception remains varied across different audiences.
