Vicky Kaushal’s epic historical drama has created a record, not only in terms of box-office sales, but also in terms of ticket sales. It has become the first Hindi movie to have sold 12 million tickets on the ticketing platform BookMyShow.
COO of Cinemas at BookMyShow, Ashish Saksena, revealed how Chhaava has officially left behind Stree 2, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, in terms of number of tickets sold.
“In a historic achievement that has redefined the Indian cinema landscape, Chhaava has blazed past all previous records to become the first Hindi film ever to cross the monumental 12 million ticket sale milestone on BookMyShow. This extraordinary accomplishment sees Chhaava surpassing even the blockbuster Stree 2, creating a new benchmark in the industry,” Saksena said.
He also added that the film has received the most love from key cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Nagpur, Nashik, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Lucknow.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava collected Rs 1.46 crore on Day 32, March 17. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s film has officially crossed Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal’s box office collection. On Day 32, Chhaava’s earnings stand at a massive Rs 564.11 crore.
