Kesari 2, the sequel to Akshay Kumar’s hit film of 2019, Kesari, is finally releasing. Akshay posted the news on his X handle, along with a motion poster of the movie. “A revolution painted in courage #KesariChapter2 teaser drops this Monday! Brace yourselves! Releasing in cinemas on April 18!,” the post read.

A few days ago, the actor posted some stills from the 2019 film, to celebrate six years of Kesari. The text on the images read, “6 years ago… A story of courage shook the nation.” It further went on to say, “21 Sikhs against thousands of Afghans. Outnumbered. Surrounded. But never defeated.They fought like lions, they became legends.” “History wrote one chapter… Now, we tell the next. The saffron rises again. New battle, same fire. Tomorrow.”
He captioned the post as, “Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari. Celebrating a new chapter that begins…soon!”

Along with Akshay Kumar, the sequel will see some new faces. R Madhavan and Ananya Panday have joined the cast. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Akshay Kumar’s Cape Of Good Films, and Anand Tiwari and Ampritpal Singh Bindra the sequel is directed by debutant filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi.
Going by the teaser, it looks like Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
