The MTV Video Music Awards 2025 is ready to roll out the red carpet for music royalty this weekend in New York. If you’re a fellow melophile counting down the hours to the big music night, we’ve compiled all the information you need to know.

With Mariah Carey making her highly anticipated return to the prestigious stage, Lady Gaga is topping the list of most nominations this years. K-pop inspired global girl group KATSEYE will also be among the many A-list talents setting the stage for a showstopping performance one can’t look away from.

Grammy-winning Hip-hop icon LL Cool J will be coming back to take on the duties of the 2025 MTV VMAs host on Sunday. He previously helmed the live show in 2022 alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow. On top of that, Lady Gaga is all set to take the stage for a special world premiere showcase. Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, YUNGBLUD and Nuno Bettencourt will be stealing the spotlight for a collaborative stage effort to pay tribute to the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. Taylor Swift could skip the MTV VMAs vs Mariah Carey’s big moment

Unfortunately, there’s still no official word on whether the beloved Taylor Swift, a longtime attendee with a winning streak like no other, will be in attendance. Although the pop queen hasn’t broken her silence on the issue yet, a Page Six report indicated that the “Love Story” hit-maker, may just skip the ceremony altogether. Not only is the pop star nominated for the Artist of the Year title this year, she has multiple other reasons to join the celebration.

However, for now, it seems like the recently-engaged songbird may just delay debuting her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on the global stage for now. The final confirmation will ultimately follow on D-Day as many turn up for the red carpet, while other celebrities choose to stick closer to their private quarters for the night.

On the other hand, the Christmas music legend, Mariah Carey, is on track to winning the Video Vanguard Award, as she also prepares to unleash a live musical medley of her career highlights. “The best-selling female artist of all time will return to the ‘VMAs’ stage for the first time in 20 years as she accepts the same award she presented to LL Cool J in 1997,” the MTV stated in a news release.
