Anime movies releasing in India: We’re officially headed for the Kaiju No 8 omnibus film premiere on the Indian silver screen. Thanks to Crunchyroll, Indian Otakus won’t be plagued by the fear of missing out while the rest of the world dives into the exciting anime affair this April. Even with Kaiju No 8 Mission Recon offering fans another chance to explore Kafka Hibino’s origin story this week, it won’t be the end of anime adventures rolling out in Indian theatres this year.
As anime craze in India surpasses sky-high stats and expectations, the good news is we’ve already received a satisfactory numbers of confirmations related to anime films across fandoms coming out in 2025. While the Kaiju No 8 film is due this week, the Demon Slayer final trilogy is ready to break cover in a few months’ time. Some other pre-planned major releases thereafter will bring alive supernatural and high-octane chapters of Japanese animation on the big screen. 2025 Anime movies India release dates confirmed
Kaiju No 8 Mission Recon
Release date: Friday, April 11 (This India release date is shared with Finland, Sweden, Norway and Poland). Select theatres in India may even screen it early on Thursday, April 10.
Keeping up with the latest anime film trend, the upcoming Kaiju No 8: Mission Recon premiere will help fans jog their memory ahead of the highly anticipated July release window for Season 2. Fortunately, Indian fans of anime are also lucky enough this time to relive the action-packed excitement of Kaiju No 8 Season 1 on the big screen.
Offering a condensed recap of the previous season that stole Otakus’ hearts, the Kaiju No 8 movie screening will also feature an original new episode titled “Hoshina’s Day Off.” The 12-part Production IG series that aired in 2024 memorably closed its episodes with the theme song “Nobody” by OneRepublic. And now with the Mission Recon omnibus film as this week’s agenda, fans will be treated to the brand-new ending theme song “Invincible,” again performed by OneRepublic.
Dan Da Dan Evil Eye
Release date: May 30
The surprise Dan Da Dan movie follows in the footsteps of the precedent the series set in place itself last year. While Season 2 is set to unleash the next round of supernatural action on July 3 in Japan, the first three episodes of the show will get an early (even earlier in India) jumpstart a month in advance.
Staring June 6, Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye hits the theatres outside of Japan. The cinematic screening will also feature an exclusive interview with co-directors Fuga Yamashiro and Abel Gongora.

Demon Slayer Infinity Castle
Release date: September 12
Unlike other anime compilations, the newest Demon Slayer movie will kick off the first part of the trilogy adapting the best-selling manga series’ final arc. Its global screenings will begin rolling out in August 2025. The Infinity Castle movie will Tanjiro’s final battle following up after the latest anime season Hashira Training Arc.
It all began with Tanjiro’s younger sister Nezuko turning into a demon. But before the final arc swings into action, Crunchyroll has granted fans the golden opportunity to restart their Demon Slayer journey. The anime streaming giant has launched five TV anime specials, which will help them catch up to speed on the latest adventures of the shounen action series. The following arc will be covered by the TV specials: Sibling’s Bond, Asakusa Arc, Tsuzumi Mansion Arc, Mt Natagumo Arc and Hashira Meeting Arc.

Chainsaw Man The Movie Reze Arc
Release date: September 26
Marking an explosive film debut for the Chainsaw Man anime series, the Reze Arc movie will introduce the new eponymous character to the fans. As a direct sequel to the first season of the TV series based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, the forthcoming anime movie will kick off its exclusive cinematic run in over 80 countries and territories in September, starting with its home country – Japan – on the 19th.
Fans of the action fantasy franchise will remember Reze being subtly brought onscreen in Chainsaw Man Season 1 at the very end in a cryptic introduction setting up the Reze Arc movie. Unlike most theatrical anime continuations, this particular film won’t simply position itself as a filler add-on. Therefore, anime and manga fans obsessed with the franchise can’t afford to miss out watching this premiere. According to CBR.com, Chainsaw Man – Reze Arc film is expected to adapt Chapters 39-53 of the manga. The former of the mentioned chapters, titled “Tearjerker,” is exactly where Season 1 left things off.
Shin-chan movies
Not one but two Shin-chan anime movies are confirmed to release in Indian theatres for the the first time. The two-part journey will commence with Shin-chan: Our Dinosaur Diary, premiering on May 9, 2025. The next, Shin-chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers, which is also set in India, will hit the theatres in October 2025 during the Diwali season.
“2025 is likely to become a major milestone for our Shin-chan team. It has been our long-standing dream to release Shin-chan the Movie in theatres in India, the movie superpower!” said Maiko Sumida, head of animation sales and development at TV Asahi – the Japanese TV network behind the Crayon Shinchan series.
As quoted by IGN, the statement continues, “We are thrilled that children who are currently watching Shin-chan on TV, as well as those who grew up watching it, will be able to enjoy Shin-chan’s adventures on the big screen. To enhance the excitement for the Indian audience, we have dubbed the movies into Hindi, Tamil and Telegu. We hope that this will not only provide fans with an unforgettable cinematic experience but also lead to further collaborations, tie-ups, and licensing opportunities for the brand.”
