The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has given partial relaxation in the APAAR ID mandate. Schools can now submit the List of Candidates (LoC) for the 2026 board exams without the ID by marking the entries as ‘refused’ or ‘not generated’.

This decision came after CBSE received multiple representations from schools highlighting the difficulties in generating APAAR IDs. Challenges included integration problems, mismatch in student data, delays in corrections and updates and in some cases, lack of parental consent.

Along with the relaxation, CBSE has also issued a circular mentioning the important dates for activities related to exam form submission for Class 10 and Class 12 private candidates.
