The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) class 12th results 2015 were announced on May 25, 2015 (Monday) and as has been the trend for many years now, girls have outperformed boys, not only in the pass percentage but also in the top position, which was secured by Delhi girl M Gayatri.
Where M Gayatri of New Green Field school, Saket topped CBSE class 12 class board exams for the academic year 2014-15 with 496 out of 500 marks, the second rank has been shared by three students – Mythili Mishra (Noida), B Arun (Trivendram) and Saurabh Bhambri (Delhi), each of whom scored 495 marks.
Talking over the phone with FinancialExpress.com, topper Gayatri says that she hasn’t checked her result yet but is continuously getting calls from her teachers and friends. “I am very happy,” she said excitedly.
Gayatri’s score card read English Core 98, Economics 98, Mathematics 100, Business Studies 100 and Accountancy 100.

The third rank has also been shared by three students Poonam Kumari from Mohindergarh (Haryana), Gurwinder Singh Saini from Jalandhar and N Nishok Kumar from Chennai, who obtained 494 out of 500 marks.

In 2014, a Delhi Public School in Vasant Kunj student, Sarthak Aggarwal had topped the CBSE 12th Result 2015. Sarthak was in the Science stream and managed to get 99.6 per cent marks.
While overall pass percentage of 2015 is 82.00, pass percentage of girls is 87.55 and that for boys is 77.77.
Region-wise, Thiruvananthapuram has scored the highest overall pass percentage with 95.41.
A total of 13,284 students in foreign countries had also appeared in the class XII examination and their pass percentage is 92.31.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 12th result was declared on Monday afternoon on its website cbseresults.nic.in around 12.30 after the websites crashed several times. The board, however, made it official earlier in the morning that they will be announcing 12th board result today i.e. on May 25, 2015 and 10th board result on Wednesday, i.e. May 27, 2015.
Highlights:
1) Pass percentage of 2015: 82.00 (In 2014, it was 82.70)
2) Girls did better than boys. Pass percentage of girls is 87.55 and for that of boys is 77.77.
3) Over all pass percentage of Thiruvananthapuram region is 95.41, the highest among all other regions.
4) First Topper: M Gayatri, New Green Field school
5) Second Topper: Mythili Mishra, Amity
PM Narendra Modi has also congratulated the students through Twitter. “Congratulations to all my young friends who have successfully passed the CBSE Class XII Board Exam. Best wishes for a bright future,” he tweeted.
Here is how you can check CBSE 12th result 2015 in 4-step process:
1) Visit cbse.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in
2) Enter your 12th board roll no
3) Click ‘submit’
4) Take a print out: Students are advised to save a copy of their result for future reference.
CBSE will also be uploading merit list later in the day on its official website cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.nic.in.
This year a total of 10,40,368 appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Exam in 2015. Gender break-up shows about 6,07,383 boys and 4,32,985 girls appeared for the examinations – an overall increase of 1.01 per cent.
Central Board of Secondary Education post-result counselling would begin from today itself and continue till June 8 from 8 am to 10 pm, for which it has provided a toll-free number — 1800118004.
Photocopies of the evaluated answer sheets will be provided to the candidate(s) requesting for it and only to those candidates who have applied for verification of marks. Board will be accepting applications from June 13 to June 17.
It also said only those candidates who apply for verification of marks and for obtaining photocopy of the evaluated answer book can apply for re-evaluation in maximum 10 questions each.
The re-evaluation of answer books will be available for subjects such as English Core, English Elective(NCERT), English Elective(CBSE), Hindi Core, Hindi Elective, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics and Accountancy.
The compartmental Examination will be held on July 16, 2015.
