Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced on Friday that his government possesses “chargesheet reports” from the United States related to an alleged bribery scandal involving the previous YSRCP government and the Adani Group.
Naidu pledged to investigate the irregularities and take appropriate action. The US Department of Justice has accused Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani of orchestrating a scheme to pay USD 250 million in bribes to Indian officials for favourable solar power contracts—claims the Adani Group has categorically denied.

Addressing the state Assembly, Naidu said the reports are publicly accessible and would be thoroughly examined. “We have the chargesheet reports filed there (US). We will study the allegations, act on them, and inform you,” he stated.
He further pointed out that the TDP-led government has been scrutinising alleged corruption under the YSRCP administration between 2019 and 2024 for the past five months.

The YSRCP dismissed the allegations, maintaining that no direct agreements existed between its government and the Adani Group. Naidu slammed the alleged scandal, calling it a “very sad development” that has tarnished Andhra Pradesh’s reputation and brand value.
Several legislators called for accountability, suggesting that former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy should be held responsible if the allegations are substantiated.
