Two people were injured on Sunday after a speeding Lamborghini hit two pedestrians in Noida. The vehicle — owned by YouTuber Mridul Tiwari — had been taken out for a test drive by a car dealer. The incident took place near the Sector 94 roundabout in the early hours of Sunday with the police seizing the vehicle and taking the driver into custody.

“The car driver has been identified as Deepak, a resident of Ajmer and the car is registered with the Puducherry registration. He has been arrested and the car has been seized,” said Bhupendra Singh — the in-charge at Sector 126 Police Station.

The Sector-126 police station has since registered a case and investigation remains underway. A purported video of the incident has also surfaced online and showed the accused exiting the car and asking locals if anyone had died. A man was also heard asking the accused if he knew how many people died here. Following this, someone in the video could be heard saying, “police ko bulao (call the police)”.

“I saw the car in a video of one of my influencer friends. The driver could not control the car, hit people, and then crashed into the divider. It is a Pondicherry-registered car,” an eyewitness told ANI.

Who is Mridul Tiwari?

Details shared online identify Tiwari as a content creator with more than 18 million subscribers on YouTube. His YouTube channel (called The MriDul’) has received millions of views over the past few years and currently features more than 200 videos. According to a profile published by ANI in 2021, he had begun his content creation journey in October 2018. The channel hit the 100k milestone within a year and the 1 million subscriber mark by March 2020. The influencer also remains popular on Instagram with more than 3.5 million followers.

Social media posts indicate that the Noida resident had acquired the Lamborghini Huracan in 2023 — dubbing it the ‘World’s first Lamborghini with Jai Shree Ram’. Initial investigations however suggest that Tiwari had been looking to sell the vehicle to Deepak Kumar. The latter had taken the vehicle out for a test drive when he lost control and crashed into two pedestrians. The driver also told the police during questioning that the accident had happened due to a fault.
