Ending the suspense, the BJP on Monday appointed Ujjain South MLA Mohan Yadav as the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Sharing the dias with other BJP leaders, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the outgoing CM, congratulated Yadav. He also expressed confidence in Yadav and his governance.
Chouhan took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a congratulatory note for Yadav. In the post written in Hindi, Chouhan said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yadav will take Madhya Pradesh to new heights. Interestingly, just before the announcement, pro-Chouhan posters could be seen outside BJP’s Bhopal office. There was strong buzz that Chouhan may return as the CM on the back of BJP’s stellar performance in the Assembly Elections. However, ‘fatigue factor’ was the point that may have played a role in BJP’s decision to go with Yadav’s name.
Who is Mohan Yadav
Mohan Yadav is a three-time lawmaker from Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain. In the recently held Assembly polls, Yadav won the Ujjain Dakshin seat. He was the education minister in the Shivraj government. Mohan Yadav possesses a Bachelor of Science degree, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), a Master of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctorate (Ph.D.). He is married to Seema Yadav and is a parent to two sons and a daughter.
