Several regions of southern India have been experiencing substantial rainfall this week and the latest forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted more showers in the region. IMD has predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Kerala on November 9.
The meteorological department has also issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in various districts of Southern states. The Met Office also said that there is an encouraging sign of a significant reduction in rainfall in a few days, offering some relief from the downpours.
On the other hand, the Western Disturbance is anticipated to trigger isolated to scattered instances of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall in the Western Himalayan Region until November 10, with isolated light rainfall expected in the nearby plains on November 9 and 10.
“The Western Disturbance is likely to cause isolated to scattered light/moderate rainfall/snowfall over Western Himalayan Region till 10th and isolated light rainfall over adjoining plains on 09th & 10th November, 2023,” IMD said in a statement.

Isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated in Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, South Konkan & Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu on November 9.
