The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate fairly widespread rainfall, along with isolated heavy rain, over Tamil Nadu during Tuesday-Saturday; Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and Saturday; Coastal Karnataka and Kerala during Thursday-Saturday; Interior Karnataka on Friday and Saturday.

East India is expected to encounter a renewed episode of substantial rainfall starting on September 29th. Moreover, the weather department said that the withdrawal of southwest monsoon is in process. “Conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of northwest & adjoining western India during next 2-3 days,” IMD said. 

Delhi weather update 

The Met Office informed that the national capital is likely to witness mainly clear sky today. As per Skymet weather reports, the national capital experienced some rainfall over the weekend. Nevertheless, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are now projected to stay rain-free for the upcoming days.

On Tuesday, maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 35.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, a notch above normal, while the relative humidity was recorded at 57 per cent, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data.

Rainfall likely in Odisha, Jharkhand, Andaman & Nicobar Islands

As per the meteorological department, parts of East India are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall, widespread thunderstorms, and lightning from the 26th to the 30th of September. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands throughout this period, while Odisha will experience these conditions on the 29th and 30th, and Jharkhand on the 30th. Particularly, from the 28th to the 30th of September, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands may see isolated instances of very heavy rainfall.

Heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu

The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu for the next seven days. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas on Wednesday and Thursday. From the 26th to the 30th of September, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated, with isolated occurrences of heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu. IMD has indicated that the onset of the northeast monsoon is expected in Tamil Nadu around October 18.

Parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala to witness showers

In South India, a stretch of rainy days is on the horizon. Coastal Andhra Pradesh will face similar conditions on the 26th and 30th, while Coastal Karnataka and Kerala should expect these conditions from the 28th to the 30th. Interior Karnataka will likely see such weather on the 29th and 30th of September.

Moderate rainfall likely in Maha, Goa

In Western India, a bout of light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is predicted from the 26th to the 29th of September over Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Marathwada will also be affected on the 26th of September. Additionally, on the 28th of September, isolated very heavy rainfall is highly likely over Konkan & Goa.

Rain likely in parts of Chhattisgarh

Central India will experience light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Specifically, Chhattisgarh is expected to encounter these conditions on the 30th of September.
