The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rainfall for Delhi-NCR, with a yellow alert in effect for the next three days. The national capital is expected to experience a generally cloudy sky with light rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures are likely to hover around 33 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 26 degrees Celsius for the minimum.

An ‘orange’ alert has been issued for Delhi, signaling the possibility of severe rains that could disrupt transportation and daily activities. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay informed about weather updates.

The heavy rainfall has already led to significant traffic disruptions in Delhi. Waterlogging has been reported in several areas, including Najafgarh-Phirni Road near Dhansa Stand and Bahadurgarh Stand, causing severe traffic congestion. The Delhi Traffic Police have urged motorists to avoid these stretches and consider alternate routes.

Additional traffic delays have been caused by the breakdown of cluster buses near Chhawla Stand and on Ring Road near Safdarjung Hospital heading towards Moti Bagh. Waterlogging on Rohtak Road and potholes from Nangloi to Tikri Border are also contributing to slow-moving traffic. Travelers are advised to avoid Mundka and Najafgarh Nangloi Road due to similar issues.

The IMD has also issued an orange alert for Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand, predicting heavy showers during the day. The weather agency has forecast widespread rainfall in the Western Himalayan Region and scattered showers across the plains of northwest India throughout the week.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan until August 18, and in Haryana until August 16. The IMD has also predicted significant rainfall in other parts of India, including the northeast and south peninsular regions.
