In a span of just a few hours, two separate commercial flights, one operated by IndiGo and the other by SpiceJet, were forced to make emergency landings. The emergency landing has been done because of technical issues, once again highlighting growing concern related to over in flight malfunctions. An IndiGo flight heading for Leh was compelled to return to Delhi shortly after taking off on Thursday morning. Flight 6E 2006 with around 180 passengers and crew made a safe landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport. As per the airline, the crew took action swiftly, and all the standard safety procedures were followed after encountering operational restrictions that would have prevented landing in Leh.
The airline mentioned in a statement that, ”IndiGo flight 6E 2006 operating from Delhi to Leh on June 19, 2025 returned to origin due to a technical issue.’’

An additional aircraft was arranged to send the passengers to their destination. As per latest report, no injuries have been reported so far. The airline spokesperson stated that the affected aircraft is currently being investigated.
SpiceJet Hyderabad-Tirupati flight returns
Meanwhile, in another incident, SpiceJet has also reported to have experienced a technical snag in one of its flights originating from Hyderabad. Flight SG 2696, which took off from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 6:19 AM for Tirupati, had to return shortly because of a technical glitch, sources have confirmed it to PTI. The flight had been slated to land in Tirupati at 7:40 am, but instead went back to Hyderabad.
SpiceJet has confirmed that its Hyderabad-Tirupati flight operated by a Q400 aircraft returned to Hyderabad shortly after the cockpit crew observed an intermittent illumination of the AFT baggage door light after taking off. The cabin pressurisation continued to be normal throughout.
”As a precautionary measure, the pilots decided to return to Hyderabad. The aircraft landed safely and passengers were deplaned normally,’’ it stated. An alternate aircraft has been arranged for the onward journey to Tirupati.
