A Hindu Munnani leader has been booked over allegations of making derogatory remarks against DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and demanding an apology. The arrest was made on an official complaint filed by DMK District Head AC Mani at the Arani police station.

Mahesh was taken into custody from his own residence following questioning. According to India Today, Mahesh claims that he simply called for an apology from Stalin for his remarks regarding Sanatana Dharma.

“During my speech on the stage, I emphasized the need for Udhayanidhi to apologize for his remarks against Sanatana Dharma. I also called for legal action against him under Section 302, as Udhayanidhi used the term ‘eradication’ in his statements,” Mahesh told India Today.

The leader has been charged for promoting enmity, hurting religious sentiments, and delivering provocative speeches.
