Bibhav Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, lodged a police complaint against AAP MP Swati Maliwal, on Friday. He alleged that she breached the security of the Chief Minister’s residence on May 13 to gain unauthorized entry and caused a disturbance there, as reported by the party, reports PTI.
The party also said that when Kumar attempted to prevent her entry, she hurled abuses at him.
In his complaint, submitted via email to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines Police Station, Kumar alleged that Maliwal is now attempting to falsely accuse him of assaulting her at the Chief Minister’s residence when she sought to meet Kejriwal. A copy of the complaint was also sent to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North).
The AAP, in a statement, said that Kumar’s complaint specified that Maliwal breached the security of the Chief Minister’s residence, gained access forcibly and without authorization, and created a ruckus. When stopped by Kumar, she allegedly hurled abuses at him with the intent to physically assault him, according to the complaint.
Kumar further claimed in the complaint that Maliwal is attempting to implicate him to create undue pressure falsely. Maliwal has already filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Kumar, alleging that he assaulted her when she went to meet Kejriwal at his official residence on May 13.
Details of Kumar’s complaint
In his complaint, Kumar detailed that Maliwal entered Kejriwal’s residence on May 13 by informing security personnel that she was a Rajya Sabha MP. “Despite requests by security officers to wait until her appointment details were verified, she forcibly entered the Chief Minister’s residence despite objections,” Kumar said.
The complaint indicated that she trespassed despite repeated objections by security personnel and the Chief Minister’s office staff. At 9:22 am, when Kumar entered the main building of the Chief Minister’s residence, he found Maliwal in the drawing room. “Kumar approached Maliwal and politely requested her to follow the proper procedure for meeting the Chief Minister. In response, Maliwal started screaming and shouting at Kumar and hurled abuses, saying: ‘tumhari himmat kaise hui…ek MP ko rokne ki….tumhari aukat kya hai? (How dare you stop an MP? What is your status?)’,” the complaint stated.
Maliwal ignored the requests and began walking towards the inner parts of the residence, Kumar noted in his complaint. Kumar claimed that she intended to harm Kejriwal, and when he strongly objected, Maliwal became angry, sat on a sofa, and called the police control room, starting to level false allegations against him.
Kumar recounted that when he requested Maliwal to leave the Chief Minister’s residence, she threatened him, saying, “Main tujhe dekh lungi…main tujhe aese joothe case mei fasaungi ki tujhe zindagi bhar jail mei sadah dungi (I will trap you in a false case and ensure you spend your whole life in prison).”
He mentioned that security officers in the main building were also called and requested her to leave. She vacated the premises at 9:35 am, according to the complaint. Kumar has alleged that Maliwal trespassed, breached the security of the Chief Minister’s residence, prevented government officers from discharging their duties, and assaulted him. Therefore, he asserts that she is liable for legal action.
Kumar concluded, “You (SHO) are requested to take appropriate legal action against Maliwal. Given that it is election time, this incident may have been orchestrated at the behest of the BJP. Hence, it is requested that her call records, chats, and interactions with BJP leaders be investigated.”
