The Supreme Court on Wednesday said it will not hear Arvind Kejriwal’s plea seeking a 7-day extension of his interim bail in a corruption case linked to the Delhi liquor policy.
The SC registry refused to accept the application saying that since the Chief Minister was given liberty to move trial court for regular bail, the plea is not maintainable.
The apex court on May 10 granted interim bail to Kejriwal to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections and had asked him to surrender on June 2, a day after voting for the elections is scheduled to end.

Refusing to accept application, SC said that since the verdict is already reserved on challenge to arrest, Kejriwal’s plea for extension of interim bail has no relation to main petition.
Kejriwal had sought an extension on medical grounds and requested the court for an urgent hearing today. Moving the petition, AAP had said that Kejriwal had lost 7 kg after his arrest and the ketone levels in his body were very high. “These may be symptoms of some serious disease. Max Hospital doctors examined him. He needs to undergo a PET-CT scan and many other tests. He has sought 7 days to get the investigations done,” said the AAP.
