Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla on Saturday after experiencing minor health issues during her stay in the hill station. The 78-year-old veteran leader, who had been reportedly staying at daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s residence in Charabra for the past three days, was taken to the hospital for a routine medical examination.
Naresh Chauhan, Principal Advisor (Media) to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, confirmed the development. “She has been brought in for a routine check-up due to some minor health concerns. Doctors are examining her. She is stable. Details are awaited,” he told the media.
According to media reports, Gandhi is undergoing several tests, including an MRI, as part of the evaluation.
