The Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) on Thursday announced its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections comprising eight names.
Candidates named in the first list include Rahul Shewale who has been fielded from Mumbai South-Central, Sanjay Mandlik from Kolhapur and Sadashiv Lokhande from Shirdi.
The party has also fielded Prataprao Jadhav from Buldhana and Hemant Patil from Hingoli. Other names on the list include Shrirang Barne from Maval, Raju Parve from Ramtek and Dhairyasheel Mane from Hatkanangale.
The Shiv Sena is contesting the elections in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party. Maharashtra will vote in the first five phases during the Lok Sabha elections, beginning April 19 and the results will be declared on June 4.
