As per a 46-year-old air hostess, she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a staff member. She was still on a ventilator in the ICU at the Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon . TOI reports claim that two nurses were present in the room but did nothing nothing to stop the incident.
Falling ill after a swim in the hospital in her hotel, she was in the city for a workshop. As per investigations, the woman arrived in Gurugram on March 31 for a training programme by an airline operator in Darbaripur, Sector 75. Due to her severe condition, on April 5, she was admitted to the Medanta Hospital and discharged later.
However, on April 6, she was on a ventilator when some “hospital staff sexually assaulted” her as per the complaint she filed. It was filed on April 13 when the air-hostess told her husband and then lodged a complaint in the Sadar police station. A case under relevant section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered for molestation.
Medanta Hospital’s response
The hospital released a statement following the alleged assault stating that, “We have been made aware of a complaint from a patient and have been fully cooperating with the investigations conducted by the relevant authorities. At this stage, no allegations have been substantiated, and all relevant documents, including CCTV footage from the hospital for the time period in question, have been handed over to the police.”

Gurugram Police response
Deputy commissioner of police (East) Gaurav said a special investigation team led by Sadar ACP Yashwant has been constituted given the seriousness of the allegations. “The team has collected CCTV camera footage from the hospital and is questioning employees who may have interacted with the patient during her stay,” he said.
