Rishi Sunak, the former British Prime Minister, and his wife Akshata Murty created quite a stir on social media when they were spotted enjoying coffee at a Third Wave Coffee outlet in Bengaluru’s Jayanagar area.

The couple, who were in the city for official purposes, were noticed walking into the cafe and making a coffee order.

Rishi Sunak was wearing his trademark outfit of a black trouser and a white shirt and Murty sported a quite plain pastel kurta. The two ordered coffee at the counter and walked to a table.

Photos of the couple showed them looking relaxed and at ease as they placed their order at the counter and settled into their table.

As per the PTI reports, Sunak along with Akshata visited Guru Raghavendra Mutt in Jayanagar, South Bengaluru on Tuesday in the company of her parents, NR Narayana Murthy, and Sudha Murty. As it was an auspicious period, the whole family was praying for Guru Raghavendra’s blessings in the month of Kartik and joined the temple rituals.

Social media users took to platforms like X and Threads to share the moment. Some users even joked about Rishi Sunak’s ties to Infosys, his in-laws’ company, with one person humorously commenting that he must be working 70-hour weeks at the Electronic City Infosys office.

The locals were thrilled to see them and couldn’t resist asking for selfies, which the couple happily obliged.

Rishi Sunak, who became the first British Prime Minister of Hindu origin, has ancestral roots in India. Last year, he visited the Akshardham Temple in Delhi with his wife before attending the G20 Summit.
