In yet another twist, the 17-year-old boy, who was involved in the Pune Porsche crash, and his father have claimed that their family driver was behind the wheel when the accident happened.
The minor’s two friends, who were with him at the time of the accident, have backed his claims, India Today reported.
According to the initial reports, the teen, son of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, was in the car that crashed into a motorbike, killing two people. He was taken into custody and given bail the next day. However, a day before, a Pune court cancelled the bail granted to him and ordered him to be sent to a juvenile centre till June 5.
In a fresh turn of events, the family has now claimed that their driver was driving the car at the time of the accident.
The family driver in his first statement on Thursday had also claimed that he was driving the Porsche. Vishal Agarwal has also claimed that it was the driver employed by him who was driving the Porsche, reported India Today.
The mobile phone of Vishal Agarwal has also been recovered and efforts are underway to uncover the details of the accident.
Pune Porsche crash
Two people on a bike were killed when a speeding Porsche hit them in the early hours of Sunday. The car was being driven by a 17-year-old teen, who was also possibly drunk at the time.
The deceased were identified as 24-year-old Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta. While Ashwini hailed from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, Anish belonged to Birsinghpur Pali in the Umaria district of the state.
the Madhya Pradesh-based parents of the victims have sought stringent punishment for the accused boy as well as his parents, accusing them of being responsible for the death of their children.
