Pastor Bajinder Singh sentenced to life imprisonment by court in Punjab’s Mohali in 2018 rape case. Pastor Bajinder was found guilty under Sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

On March 28, Singh (42) was convicted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Vikrant Kumar under Sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Bajinder, who was present in court, was arrested and taken to Patiala jail.

In the same case, the court acquitted five other individuals — Pastors Jatinder Kumar and Akbar Bhatti, along with Rajesh Chaudhary, Sitar Ali, and Sandeep Pehlwan — who had been named as accused in the FIR filed at the Zirakpur police station in 2018.

The complainant had alleged that Bajinder, claiming he could assist her in moving and settling abroad, lured her to his residence in Mohali’s Sector 63. There, she accused him of raping her and recording the act. She further claimed that Bajinder threatened to post the video on social media unless she complied with his demands.
