Operation Sindoor: In the early hours of May 7, 2025, India conducted Operation Sindoor, a series of precision missile strikes targeting terrorists infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). This operation was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack in which 26 people were killed.

The Indian Armed Forces conducted strikes on nine locations, which were identified as hubs for terrorist activities. These sites included Bahalwapur, Kotli, Tehra Kalan, Muzzaffarabad, Bhimber, Sialkot and Muridke. Notably, Bahawalpur is connected with Jaish-e-Mohammed whereas Muridke is associated with Laskar-e-Taiba.

He also highlighted on the potential risk of military confrontation between the two nuclear armed neighbours. On the other hand China expressed regret on India’s strike and raised concerns about escalating tensions. Similarly, the EU called on India and Pakistan to desolate the conflict and protect civilians.
