A 54-year-old man passed away following an altercation with a State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan over a car’s headlights in Nagpur’s Mata Mandir area in Maharashtra, police said.
According to an official, the incident took place in the Mata Mandir area, falling under the jurisdiction of Wathoda police station, on Thursday night.
The main accused in the incident, 30-year-old Nikhil Gupta, was visiting his sister. He was apparently parking his car when the car’s headlight beam accidentally struck the face of Muralidhar Ramraoji Neware, a local resident. Neware politely requested Gupta to adjust the light beam, but this led to an argument between them, as per PTI reports.
A forceful slap from Gupta that resulted in his collapse, Neware was swiftly taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
