Extending their red-alert advisory, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning in Pune, Raigad, Satara, Ratnagiri, and Kolhapur, with 10 other districts under the orange-alert radar.

Following the torrential rain, IndiGo Airlines and Akasa Air issued a travel advisory for Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa, and Pune. “We anticipate slow-moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to the airport,” said Akasa in their statement. IndiGo, on the other hand, mentioned the heavy showers in Mumbai and extended support for the passengers who may be stuck on airport-leading routes.

Last night, in South Mumbai, a staircase of an old building collapsed, leaving residents stranded on the first floor. Residents shared visuals on social media showing incessant rains, exponentially knocking visibility down. Reports even suggest Mumbai took 350 to 400 mm of rain in the past 48 hours. However, the majority of the public transport is running as per schedule. As Vile Parle, Santacruz, and Juhu joined the list, Mumbai continued its spell of rainfall since last night.
