Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘mujra’ comment against the Opposition during an election rally in Bihar has sparked an uproar with INDIA bloc leaders slamming him for using such language.
In his poll rally, PM Modi accused the INDIA bloc of indulging in appeasement politics. He said that the INDIA bloc is performing “mujra to keep their vote bank” intact. He vowed that as long as he is alive, he will not allow the rights of ST, SC, or OBC to be snatched away.
“I am giving the guarantee to Bihar, SC, ST, OBC communities, till Modi is alive, I will not let them snatch away their rights. For Modi, the Constitution is supreme, for Modi, Babasaheb Ambedkar’s sentiments are supreme… if the INDI alliance wants to accept the servitude of their vote bank, they are free to do so…if they want to perform mujra (dance), they are free to do… I will still stand with the SC, ST, OBC reservation staunchly. Jb tak jaan hai ladta rahunga,” said PM Modi.
However, The INDIA bloc leaders lashed out at PM Modi for making such statements.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed PM Modi over his “mujra” remarks. She said that in the history of the country, no Prime Minister had ever used such a language for opposition leaders.
“What is Modiji saying? I heard the speech of Bihar, no prime minister has ever used such words for opposition leaders in the history of the country. Your faith and your hopes were once attached to Narendra Modi, but isn’t it the responsibility of the prime minister to maintain the dignity of the post?”, said Priyanka Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur.
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera reacted sharply to the PM’s remark and wrote in Hindi in a post on X, formerly Twitter, “Today, I heard the word ‘Mujra’ from the mouth of the Prime Minister. Modiji, what is this state of mind? Why don’t you take something? Amit Shah and JP Nadda ji should get him treated immediately. Perhaps delivering speeches under the Sun has had too much of an effect on his brain.”
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said, “If the PM of 140 crore people use ‘mujra’ word, then he is suffering from a mental distress. What has happened to him? Is this a word to use in public? This is an anti-women word. Why is he anti-women? He has crossed the limits. He should apologise to the nation”
