In an update in the ongoing case in Mhow where two young Army officers were assaulted and one of their two female friends was raped on Wednesday, the officers investigating the case said that the accused allegedly roam around the area on motorcycles looking for people to rob, The Indian Express reported.
The woman who was raped has refused to record her statement, the police have said. As of now, the FIR has been filed based on the complaint of one of the Army officers. “They misbehaved with the woman, and I suspect something wrong was done to her,” he had said.
A senior police official said that the victim keeps telling them that they either shoot the accused or her. “We understand she is in shock. We are trying our best to arrest the men who did this,” they added. Multiple attempts have been made to record her statement.
As per Indore Rural Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal, the rape victim is not comfortable registering her statement. “We will wait until she recovers. We have arrested three persons – Anil, Pawan and Ritesh. Ritesh was acquitted in a murder case in 2019. The remaining three accused will be arrested soon,” Vasal added.
