Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh resigned on Sunday amidst ongoing violence in the northeastern state. In his resignation letter, Singh stated, “It has been an honour to serve the people of Manipur.” He submitted the letter to state Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan. Singh was accompanied by state BJP president A Sharda, BJP’s North East Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, and at least 19 MLAs.
