The Mumbai Cyber Cell’s special investigation team has detained actor Sahil Khan from Chhattisgarh regarding the Mahadev betting app case, news agency PTI reported on Sunday.
Khan was detained in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, on Saturday after the Bombay High Court dismissed his pre-arrest bail plea. This development follows Khan’s recent questioning by the SIT in relation to the case.
The SIT’s inquiry focuses on alleged unlawful transactions linking specific financial and real estate entities within the state to the backers of the contentious Mahadev betting application. The estimated magnitude of the malfeasance stands at approximately Rs 15,000 crore, according to the initial FIR lodged by the authorities.
An investigation encompasses Khan and 31 other individuals, entailing scrutiny of their bank records, mobile devices, computers, and all pertinent technical apparatus, the police stated. Presently, one individual has been apprehended in connection to the case, with ongoing investigative efforts persisting, as mentioned by the official.
Sahil Khan, renowned for his roles in films such as ‘Style’ and ‘Excuse Me’, has transitioned into a notable figure within the fitness domain.
