Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Sunday that a Blue Corner notice has been issued and Interpol’s assistance sought to bring back NDA’s Hassan Lok Sabha candidate Prajwal Revanna, who is facing sexual harassment allegations.
A Blue Corner Notice, issued by the international police cooperation body, is aimed at gathering additional information from member countries regarding a person’s identity, location, or activities related to a crime.
Parameshwara said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT), tasked with investigating the sex scandal, will determine the course of action to bring Prajwal back to India.
“The Blue Corner notice has already been issued. Interpol will disseminate information to all countries to locate him,” Parameshwara told reporters in Bengaluru.
He also commended the SIT’s work in probing the case, noting that the team has diligently followed the law based on the complaints received. He referenced the recent arrest of Prajwal’s father, HD Revanna, in an abduction case linked to sexual abuse allegations.
HD Revanna, a JD(S) MLA, faces charges of molestation and kidnapping, and was arrested by the SIT on Saturday following the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by a local court.
The sexual abuse case, involving explicit video clips allegedly depicting the 33-year-old Prajwal, grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, has stirred controversy in Hassan, prompting the state government to form the SIT to investigate the allegations against the MP.
